Daniela Maurer

She obtained her degree in 2005, from the Department of Design of the Milan Polytechnic. Since 2006 she has been working in the Marco Ferreri design studio, in Milan, where she collaborates in the development and creation of new product designs, graphics and installations.
Since 2007 she has been starting the collaboration with “Gspot_Fabbrica di design contemporaneo”, for whom she designed the umbrella stand “Dandy”, the photo holder “Tuttinposa”, the wall key holder “Nontidimetichiave”, the coat hanger “InAppoggio” published in many magazines. She has also participated in events and contests, such as  Vindesign 2007, in Pavia and DAS, an exposition in Rome about Italian young designers works, 2008.

She was part of the organization of DISMETTIAMOLA!, a thinking tank about the contemporary problem of the waste material disposal, Fuori Salone 2009, Milan. In this exhibition she showed her project InUmido. In 2010 she has been selected for the first edition of DEA, a project about design and art&craft in Trentino, and she began the collaboration with ZonaF, an art&craft association in the historical center of Rovereto for which she has overseen the corporate image. In 2011 she takes part in the Extrability workshop, whose aim is to design daily objects for people with physical disabilities (Design for All): she designs a peeler that is showed at Milano Design Week 2011. She takes also part in Design in Vetrina , an event organized by DDN magazine, for which she designs the window of Alberto Guardiani shop during Milano Design Week.
In November 2012 she starts to be assistant at Naba_Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti_Milan,collaborating with James Irvine, Denis Santachiara and Sebastian Bergne.
In 2013 she has been selected for the project “Poli.design Meets Brazil”, as consultant for two brazilian companies in the Region of Goiàs, Brazil.
In september 2013 she organized, with Dario Oggiano and Elisabetta Di Bucchianico (Arago Design), the first edition of “blabla design workshop” at the Artistic High School of Castelli, Abruzzo: a research workshop about the hidden languages of the traditional ceramic products of Castelli. The workshop is part of the cultural project ArDe_Artigianato e Design ( www.ar-de.it ).
In 2014 she designs Wladimiro for Cyrcus, a coin tray thought to be made according to the new way of production of digital fabrication. Wladimiro is exposed inside the 7th edition of the Triennale Design Museum in Milan, from April 2014 to February 2015.
In 2015 she curates and designs the exhibition Design for the school, in Como, investigating the evolution of the relationship between the worlds of design and school in Italy. The exhibition is part of the calendar of events Xtra, organized by the Milan Triennale in occasion of the Expo.
In 2015 she starts to collaborate with Poli.design _ Politecnico of Milan as senior researcher applying the Design Driven Methodology of Poli.design.
She lives and works in Milan.
